How To Get To Watamu

The gateway to the North Coast is Mombasa, although some visitors fly directly to Malindi, then get  a transfer to your hotel in Watamu that is 20 minutes away.Driving your own car or hired car as far as Watamu is very easy. There are regular buses and matatus along the North coast to Malindi, from where one can get a taxi from malindi town to Watamu. Many hotels and resorts in Watamu can arrange vehicle transfers. Private taxis from Mombasa will also take you to Watamu  for an agreed fare. Malindi airport has daily scheduled flights to Mombasa, Nairobi and Lamu. The airport also serves Private Charters. There are scheduled flights to Malindi.

How To Move Around In Watamu

Regular buses and Matatus service the North Coast Highway. Services are less regular north of Malindi. Taxis can be found in any town, or at most hotels or resorts.You can also hire a car from Mombasa or malindi to Watamu on self dricve. Chauffeur driven vehicles are available on request.
