Tamarind Dhow

Tamarind Dhow

The dhow slips her mooring at 6.30pm and the magical spell begins with a glass of our classic sun downer cocktail 'DAWA'. Strains of soft music from the Resident band assures our clients of a four-hour cruise delight. The Dhow cruises leisurely past the Old Town, the Old Port to the illuminated Fort Jesus at which point we turn round away from the welcoming wide open waters and cruise back past the Tamarind and into the dark and serene waters of the Creek.

A quiet spot is reached at mid creek and everything is set for the meal to be served. The seafood starter served with cocktail sauce and the wonderfully creamy tomato soup makes a great start to this gourmet meal. For the main course, there is a choice between grilled fillet steak, grilled lobster, grilled prawns or seafood Swahili. All these are prepared in front of you; a treat for the eye as well as the palate! Dessert is a tropical fruit salad rounded off with Kenya coffee and Halwa- an Arabic dessert. The band has been playing soft evergreen songs to easy listening throughout the evening, now strike up the beat and play more dancing music for you to enjoy and dance to, as the Dhow gently cruises back to the jetty at 10.30pm. The bright jetty lights bring the magical moment to an end but the magical experience always lingers on!!!!!!

The cost per person for Residents is ksh 4500 and Non Residents $ 80 and includes the following;
