Getting to Nairobi CBD by Road

 

Nairobi is accessible from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport there are Taxi’s and Public transport available at the Airport. If one is travelling from the other main towns there are Bus coaches or Trains to Nairobi and you can access public transport or taxis at the Railway Terminus or Bus Terminus.

 

Getting Around Nairobi CBD

Matatu’s (14-18 seater minibuses) and shuttles (6-seater cars) are convenient, inexpensive (and often the only) modes of public transport connecting Nairobi to towns and tourist destinations in the Rift Valley and Central Highlands such as Naivasha, Nyeri, Nanyuki, Isiolo, and Thika. Matatu’s can be obtained from the River Road area.

By foot

Walking around Nairobi is fairly easy since the city is small and places are easy to get to. However, there are some areas within the city where you should not go; minimize walking around at night. Exercise caution and common sense avoid dark streets and dark corners also do not carry or wear valuables as you might attract thieves.

 

Getting To Nairobi CBD by Air

 

Nairobi is served by Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or Wilson Airport both have regular flights to and from Nairobi JKIA serving both international and local while Wilson serves local flights and charters.

 

Getting To Nairobi National Park

 

The Park is easily accessible and has 7 gates. 2 gates being for KWS service use only. The gates are:-

Main gate: KWS headquarters Langata road

Cheetah Gate

Langata Gate

Maasai Gate

Mbagathi Gate(service gate)

Banda Gate(service gate)
