Adventure in the Mara-Travel Tips by Duara

Written by Sofia

So, one time I went on a trip to Mara with my friend of mine for a weekend. The initial plan was to actually fly there, however I can’t remember what made us then to decide to drive.

Maasai Mara

Subsequently on the day of the safari, my friend, her baby and I started off for the Maasai Mara. After delays at breakfast in Lavington and lunch at Sankara Hotel, we finally left for the Maasai Mara at 3pm.

With leaving Nairobi late and not being good with directions, not only did we miss the turning headed to the Mara but we had to have directions sent to us through phone. In the end well but ended up in Naivasha literally. (Which is an hour off the Mara junction)

You can imagine the shock! Not only did we have to drive backwards for almost 90minutes but it was now getting to 5pm and we were nowhere near the park, which is a 4 hour drive from Nairobi.

Sky Diving

Written by Duara Safaris

Sky Diving in KenyaEver try sky diving before??This is for the thrill seekers .Imagine jumping from an aeroplane at 10,000ft above sea level? Why would anyone do that?Whats so thrilling about jumping from a moving plane??Well at least in the coast of Kenya ,while you jump  you do get the view of the beautiful beaches.I do however plan to try out this sport one of these days,so far i have managed to watch people come down from the sky and land gracefully(or not) and it does seem fairly exciting but would i dare??

How are adventurous are you?? Try out Sky diving the next time your in Watamu or in Diani.

Dinner at Thalassa Restaurant

Written by Sofia

You know when you speak of resturanting at the coast the options sort of dwindle. However you will be surprised to discover how many good restaurants we have in the city of Mombasa.

Take for example Thalassa restaurant located at Nyali Bridge. I have had a couple of drinks at the place on several occasions however I never did eat there.

So last week Monday, my favourite Frenchman came to town to visit. I must say he is a very pleasant friend with whom we enjoy deep conversations, good food, excellent wine, the best restaurants in Kenya and laughter.
